The federal tax credit can save you up to $1500 if your windows and doors meet the qualifying efficiency requirements. The tax credit is part of the Economic Stimulus Plan (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009)1, which extends federal tax credits to "qualified energy improvements" for 2009 and 2010. The tax credit allows you to receive up to 30% of the amount paid for the qualifying product, or up to $1500 total maximum credit for any and all improvements. Here's how to qualify for the tax credit:
